    Department Overview

    The Integrated Development department is the “endoskeleton” for all UN Foundation resource development activities. It oversees pan-Foundation pipelines, benchmarks and evaluation and forwards a central portfolio of donors and prospects. Its mission is to establish and oversee execution of an integrated resource development plan that builds the UN Foundation’s capacity to realize its organizational vision and goals by increasing unrestricted multi-sector support for UNF in general as well as increasing the capacity of its programs and initiatives by ensuring collaboration, integration and prioritization.

    Working Relationships

    The Intern, Integrated Development will report to the Digital Development Officer.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor shared inboxes and flag donors for correspondence
    • Brainstorm innovative fundraising and email marketing ideas with team
    • Research prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors
    • Assist in compiling research projects with team members
    • Assist in preparing donor solicitations, including creating, compiling, and updating donor lists
    • Depending on experience, help write or design fundraising appeals
    • Update fundraising metrics documents regularly and monitor incoming data
    • Assist in administrative tasks to support the team

    Selection Criteria

    • Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university with a demonstrated interest in the UN and international development.
    • Demonstrated interest in fundraising, marketing, and/or international development
    • Self-motivated team player with the ability to meet deadlines, remain flexible, and adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Keen attention to detail
    • Comfort working with numbers and analytics
    • Willingness to learn new skills and explore new technologies
    • Familiarity with email marketing a plus
    • Familiarity with HTML or CSS (or willingness to learn) a plus
    • Familiarity with Photoshop (or willingness to learn) a plus

    Other Information

    The United Nations Foundation offers unpaid semester-long full and part-time internships during the following:

    • Fall: September-December
    • Spring: January-April
    • Summer: June-August
